Inside the housing, 1.8 metres of Kevlar-reinforced webbing keeps your board and foil at a safe, controlled distance during a crash, reducing the chance of unwanted contact with you or your wing. A precisely tuned, corrosion-resistant titanium PVD-coated spring retracts the webbing smoothly with minimal effort and without aggressive snap-back, so the board is not yanked back toward you after a fall.
This Calf Wrap configuration mounts the leash on the lower leg with a neoprene wrap, keeping webbing off the waist. Ride Engine recommends the calf option for separating multiple leash systems, and it suits riders who already wear a waist harness. The leash is also sold as a Base unit for DIY mounting and with a Waist Belt.

Details
Retrieving the board. The RE_Tractable does not automatically pull the board back toward you. When you are ready to retrieve it, a light, consistent pull lets the webbing retract smoothly into the housing.
Why separation matters. Moving the board and foil away from the body helps reduce contact during a fall and limits impacts between board, foil, wing or parawing that can lead to canopy tears or bladder punctures. No leash can remove every risk of foiling.
Care. Rinse with fresh water after every saltwater session to preserve the spring and webbing.
